The Contemporary Heroes Topple Icecrown Citadel and Defeat the Lich King

Northrend -- (July 21, 2010) – With the help of every member of the progression team, and the support of the entire guild, The Contemporary Heroes have cleared all evil from the halls of Icecrown Citadel – from Lord Marrowgar through to the dreaded Lich King (10 player) himself. As the members of the team danced around Arthas’ remains, they promised to return time and again with their friends to show the horrid leader of the scourge what a real team can do.

“This win belongs to the guild, not just to a small group of raiders,” Firestaryvfd, the guild master for Contemporary Heroes, explained. “Our goal now is to use the knowledge we gained in our fight with the Lich King to help everyone willing to put in the work earn a Kingslayer title.”

The revelry following this initial kill went long into the night, with rumors of CH raiders flaunting their new titles and bragging to passersby in all of the major cities of Azeroth (darker rumors put Tungol in Stormwind making sure Wrynn sees he is now a "Kingslayer").

Congratulations on killing the Lich King, Contemporary Heroes. We are truly in a great guild.

Change to Loot Rules

Effective June 29th this addition to the loot rules will be made:

Items with Strength and other Dps stats are considered main spec for Warriors, Death Knights, and Paladins who are rolling dps.

Items with Agility and other Dps stats are considered main spec for Rogues, Hunters, Feral Druids, and Enhancement Shamans.

The following will remain in the loot rules:
Weapons with Agility on them are considered to be main spec for Death Knight tanks.

Remember its not about the purple shinies.

Tungol and The King of Stormwind

Follow-up: In Contemporary Heroes raids Tungol has done an excellent job recently of overcoming the temptation to explain to the King Wrynn that his warrior spec and itimization is fail. However, it was noted that Tungol refused to come to His Majesty's defence during a Horde raid on Stormwind, choosing instead to defend King Magnini Bronzebeard in Ironforge.

March 3, 2010 – Varian Wrynn, the current king of Stormwind, turned his back on The Contemporary Heroes Wednesday after senior raider – and long time troublemaker – Tungol told him “We don’t want your help. Please go away,” in Icecrown Citadel.

The king, aghast at the insult, abruptly left, taking his “Strength of Wrynn” buff with him. While the other 24 heroes in the raid remained confused, Tungol was overheard mumbling something about “We don’t need him. He isn’t my king anyway. I didn’t vote for him.”

Luckily for the raid, the king returned after some crafty diplomacy by CH guildmaster Firestaryvfd. There were, however, still many hard feelings.

“I respect the strength that the Contemporary Heroes bring to the fight against the Lich King, but this Tungol may want to stay out of Stormwind for a few weeks,” Wrynn explained. “There are many hazardous spots in my city and I would hate to see him suffer an unfortunate ‘accident’.”

Guild leadership met shortly after the raid to discuss punishment for the brash warrior but, to date, no decision has been made regarding his fate.

Note: Seriously people! Don't talk to the king. We will make fun of you forever!!

Contemporary Heroes to Audition for Roles in New Smurf Movie

As I’m sure everyone is aware, the movie of the decade (possible of the century), The Smurfs, is currently going into production. What many may not know, however, is that several prominent Contemporary Heroes have decided to audition for key roles in the new blockbuster. They include:

- Bloomyvfd as Harmony Smurf (featuring the new hit songs, “Our Smurfy Loot Rules” and “It’s not about the Smurfy Shinies”)

- Ralynn as Vanity Smurf (with the smurfy blue healing dress)

- Garitus as Papa Smurf (do we really need to explain this one?)

- Firestaryvfd as Brainy Smurf (watch as she proposes smurfy new ways to defeat Gargamel)

- Nellaandra as Jokey Smurf (laughing so hard, she falls out of her chair)

- Tungol as Clumsy Smurf (really, people, don’t talk to the king in ICC – we will make fun of you forever), and

- Morassa as Baker Smurf (hope they like smurfy fish feasts)

So, get your face paint and popcorn ready. It should be a smurfy good time.

Support for the R1 (Naxx)-R5 (TOTC 25) raids has dropped considerably in the past two weeks. This is something that should concern raiders at all levels.

It is very important that you continue to support lower level raids even after you have been promoted yourself. This support is what makes our guild work.

As an example, right now we are trying to get to the point where we can form two Icecrown Citadel 25 player raids each week to better ensure no one gets left behind due to roll outs. In order to do this, we need at least 10 more R6 level raiders. If we can’t raid Naxx, Ulduar or TOTC due to a lack of support, we will never be able to form that second ICC 25 – and the people currently at R6 will get to raid ICC 25 less and less.

More importantly, we need to support these raids to help those people at lower ranks see new content.

This is an easy problem to fix, though. We just need people to support these raids. Just because you have made it to R6 doesn’t mean you should consider Ulduar or Naxx a thing of the past. In fact, it is probably more important than ever to your ability to raid ICC and beyond.

Thanks to everyone for helping to address this problem. We have had significantly less trouble filling raids in the last weeks. Thanks again!! Please keep up the good work.

Contemporary Heroes Defy Critics in First Half of Q2, 2010

Northrend -- May 10, 2010 -- With seven hard-won progression victories since April 1, 2010, The Contemporary Heroes are on a seemingly unstoppable trek through the raids of Northrend – surpassing all expectation and leaving several critics dumbfounded.

“We never expected them to get this far this fast,” Dimtorch Gossipwhisper reported in a recent issue of the Rivendare Report. “However, it seems that while we media have been obsessed with recent scandals, such as the widely-publicized Tungolgate incident with King Varian Wrynn and various ‘wardrobe malfunctions’ in ICC, the heroes have stayed on mission – downing one boss after the next.”

Based on recent progress, stock in the Heroes has never been higher. In Tanaris, odds makers have taken notice – moving bets from 3:1 against just five weeks ago to 100:1 in their favor, today.

“It just doesn’t make sense to bet against CH anymore,” Tooka Slimchance dejectedly explained after losing most of his fortune following the guild’s recent Festergut kill.

Recently publicized victories by the Heroes include:

April 9: “Professor Putricide (10) proves powerless against the pugilistic prowess of The Contemporary Heroes”

April 11: “The Contemporary Heroes toy with XT-002 Deconstructor (10) in hard mode”

April 18: “Valithria Dreamwalker (10) awakens from nightmare thanks to Contemporary Heroes healers”

April 22: “The Contemporary Heroes bloody the Blood Princes (10)”

April 25: “The Contemporary Heroes teach Festergut (25) some manners”

May 1: “The Contemporary Heroes take a bite out of Blood Queen Lana’thal (10)”

May 10: “General Vezax (10) surrenders to The Contemporary Heroes”

Some Raiding Changes for May

Overall raiding is going beautifully. I believe there has been a progression kill every week this month. There are some scheduling changes that are going to help accommodate the changing needs of the guild, and a couple other changes.

Respecting Raid Leaders
The person designated by Fire as the raid leader for a particular raid is the person who should be dictating the strategy for that raid. Our guild has established and successful strategies through the majority of the raiding content in the game. Unless you are in progression content, follow the guidance of the raid leader during the raid. It creates undue delays and frustration for you to discuss or argue with the raid leader. The appropriate time to discuss strategies is following the raid, and the appropriate place is the guild forums. We do welcome suggestions and potential changes; again the proper place for this discussion is the guild forums. In content that a group is struggling in, a whispered suggestion to the raid leader is appropriate. Discussion of different strategies in raid chat or vent is not appropriate and can lead to confused raiders and to wipes. Because this has been an ongoing problem, expect to see harsher consequences for this.
Scheduled Free Day
There will be one day each week with no scheduled raiding. This will accommodate continuing raids, or running classic raids, or helping people with heroics.

Weekly Raid Scheduling
Due to some difficulty in running 10 man versions of the weekly raid each week, and to free up time for the open day, our guild will schedule only 25 man versions of the weekly raid. The only exception to this is ICC 10 which will be scheduled every week. We very strongly encourage in guild pugs to complete the 10 man version of the weekly. We will do our best every week to have the weekly 25 man group complete the achievements needed to move to the next raid rank. If the weekly is ToTC or ICC only raiders of the appropriate rank for that content will receive invites. What this is going to mean is the final schedule for each week will not be out until Tuesday, when we know the weekly. A tentative schedule will be posted on the website.

In a catastrophic occurrence today ToTC 10 man was unable to continue due to the fact the Lich King refused to break the floor.

When questioned why he had this to say.

Lich King,Quote:
"Frankly I'm scared of what you and your friends will do to my pet. Anub is just a little shy and id rather not have him dig a deeper hole i mean first he hid in AN then after having to molt and Escape leaving his shell behind to make people think he was dead millions of times he dug a hole under here. Also", Motions to tungol, "ive heard about that guy from my weekly poker game with the King of stormwind, and id rather not put up with any indecency. I know I'm not the best of people but i know when im beat and frankly id rather keep nubby safe. It also wasn't polite of you to /fart, /lick, /moan, /slap and cast useless AOE's on me."

Players took the opportunity to get a screen shot with the notorious bad guy and to pull off many Cliche acts. Like Domeki's Screaming Of "YOU SHALL NOT PASS" as he dramatically slammed his new staff into the floor trying to make it break. And of course the Emotes provided by the rest of the party.

Unfortunately Fire Was unable to negotiate entry into Anub's Bedroom for the final Confrontation and the party Disbanded to try another night.

Tungol Insults the King of Stormwind
